Rilasciato Il Firmware Xk3y v 2.01-1

Dal sito ufficiale dell xk3y è stato rilasciato un nuovo fw, questo è il changelog:

Added support for XK2
Added support for USB DVD drives & burned/pressed games
Added RTL8150 driver
New Mr Waffles Code

Istruzioni :

1. Extract the three files "rootfs", "uImage" & "xkey.cfg"

2. Open xkey.cfg with Notepad and configure it if needed.
2.1 Add the three files to the root folder of a Flash Drive or HDD. (Make sure to "eject" the drive properly from the PC, it may otherwise cause corrupt files)

3. Connect the Flash drive or HDD to your xk3y remote and wait for the xk3y to start the update.
3.1 The remote OLED will now display "UPDATING - PLEASE WAIT" for about 35 seconds. (Do not turn off your XB360 or disconnect the remote while updating)

4. Once the update is completed, the OLED will display "UPDATE COMPLETE - RESET XBOX" Reboot your xbox and the xk3y should now be updated to the latest firmware.

5. That's it! Continue to enjoy using xk3y with the new features!

NOTE! If you use the same drive as you store games on to do the update with, then its recommended (not needed) to remove the "rootfs", "uImage" & "xkey.cfg" from the root of your drive after a firmware update. Since keeping them there will cause the xk3y to check the files if they are a newer firmware version then stored on your xk3y micro SD card, and because of that take longer time for your HDD to be recognized.

Aggiungo qualche spiegazione in più sul changelog, che in effetti può sembrare arcano e incapibile ad un primo sguardo.

1) Supporto per XK2: è una nuova generazione di xk3y, che per il momento non è ancora stata rilasciata. Userà la stessa PCB del 3k3y-S (quello per le PS3 con connettori Sata) e del uk3y (versione per WiiU, work in progress)

2) Supporto per dvd originali e copie di backup: sì, avete letto bene, si può collegare tramite la porta usb del dongle un lettore dvd dual layer esterno, per leggere i giochi sia originali che copie di backup

3) Driver RTL8150: supporto per un ulteriore porta usb e per la porta ethernet

4) Codice di Mr. Waffles: credo sia per migliorare le prestazioni del dongle wifi

We receive many questions about XK2 after announcing "XK2 support" with the v2.00+ firmwares for Xk3y.

XK2 is a daughter board for 3k3y SATA. Thats right - 3k3y SATA now works with SATA PS3's *including Super Slim* AND Xbox 360!

The functionality is exactly the same as for the standard Xk3y and we will continue manufacturing both as 3k3y SATA + XK2 daughter board will inevitably be more expensive than the standard Xk3y hardware.

In pratica il 3k3y-S supporterà tutte le PS3 di tipo Sata (incluse le superslim) e anche le Xbox 360. Per XK2 si intende la daughter board che va associata alla main PCB, e che differisce in base alle esigenze di chi lo vuole installare e su che piastra.
