ProgSkeet: a long phase of beta and many difficulties

Update: software was update today (110807), it fixes the exact problem published here, banning me from progskeet forum instead of admitting the problem itself is a confirmation of bad support, i'm sure it's easier to listen to customers and fix a problem than hiding it

consoleopen.com was born to be truthful despite commercial interest, we give you Facts. We received a sample of ProgSkeet from electronicmods.com advertised as the perfect NOR flasher for PS3 slim, a simple google search will tell you about thousand promises but no facts. When the sample was delivered there was no software to use it, patiently we waited for NOR flashing to appear, in the meantime schematics were changing with no advice. So, what do we have to say ? ProgSkeet is fooling with us, today (6 August 2011) we are here with a list of promises and no facts. An open source project ([URL="http://psx-scene.com/forums/f149/norway-teensy-2-0-flasher-software-94388/"]Norway with Teensy++ 2.0[/URL]) can read and write NOR flashes correctly, in the meantime ProgSkeet customers got zero support (ridicolous documentation, awful treatment in the official forum), very buggy software (flasher BETA 110803, [URL="http://www.multiupload.com/KHEI448EXT"]original download here[/URL] if you want double check with the chip correctly installed) that dumps only 512 KByte (you can try to insert sector size and sector count but it gives you Incorrect Parameter) and a thousand promises never fulfilled (NOR write still missing). Are you hurrying to buy it? Don't be! Use your old infectus to dump NAND flashes and get a Teensy++ 2.0 to dump NOR or just wait for more promises ...
